| Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is a real time strategy game released in 2001, built using the Age of Empires II engine. It was followed by the Clone Campaigns expansion pack, released in 2002. The Saga box set featured both the original game and the expansion. The game was also released for the Macintosh but it is a PowerPC application and therefore not compatible with OSX Lion. This torrent is my Wineskin port of the Windows Saga release and is therefore fully compatible with Lion. The system requirements for this port are the general Wineskin system requirements: Intel Mac running Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6 or 10.7. I've only tested it on computers with Nvidia and AMD graphics cards so I don't know if it will work on GMA or ATI cards. Port Info: Wineskin Wrapper v2.5.4 Wine Engine WS8Wine1.5.1 Renderer is set to GDI Installed the Indeo Video codecs Set Windows version to Windows 98 Known issues: 1. The CD music is not included 2. Online play: the game does not feature in the MSN Gaming Zone (MSN Games these days) any more. 3. Multiplayer does not work 4. The game crashes from time to time. This is not a Wine issue, the game also crashes on most modern Windows computers. I have not found a solution to this yet. The frequency of the crashes is low so the game is playable. You should save reasonably often. Installation: Unzip Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga.app.zip and place it anywhere on your hard drive. |
