i cant get it to run on my Mac book, it's running OS X. 5.4??
i duno, it's up to date (Y)
but when i run it, the screen goes black, then it goes and a box appears saying it can't withch to the required screen of 640 x 400 and in 16 colors :/

Install the game.
Then update to version 1.0.6 form here: http://www.destineerstudios.com/support/aoe2.html
The update fixes most of the problems with intel macs running OSX 10.5 and later.
After that just use the NOCD from this download and you should be up and running.
Works fine for me on OSX 10.6.1
Try to install and it says it can't locate the Read Me file? Despite it being right there
